Rules and Conditions

At the first event entered for owner/handler, a $150 annual membership will be due to cover the 2024 season.  

 

All season events will be 80% payback. 

 

2023 heifers can compete in the yearling divisions. 

 

Flyers for each series event will outline the divisions and fees.  

 

Real-Time scoring will be used for the benefit of spectators; however, the score announced during the competition is UNOFFICIAL. The official scores and results will be announced and the conclusion of the division after reviewing the judges handwritten score sheets. In an instance where there is a discrepancy between the score announced and the handwritten score, the handwritten score will be used due to the possibility of internet and/or technology glitches.  

 

Riders must register with the Secretary and sign a waiver prior to their division.  

 

Before a check is issued for purse money, Claim-A-Bull must have a signed W2 on file.  

 

During the series events, a bull can be entered in any division throughout the year. For  

example, a bull can be entered in the open and at the next event dropped to a $15,000 or $7500  

claimer, or a bull can be entered for $7500 and at the next event entered for $15,000 or in the open.

 

At the finale, each animal is eligible to compete in the last division entered with no claiming option. If an animal enters in a lower division at the finale than the last division competed in, that animal is eligible can be claimed for the division price. For example, if a bull has been entered in the Finale for $7500, but the last event entered was in the $15,000 division, that animal can be claimed for $7500.  

 

Entries close Monday prior to the the event at 6pm. Entry fees paid by an E-Check must  be paid no later than the Wednesday prior to the event. Entry fees may be paid the day of the event no later than 9am by cash or a credit card. Credit Cards will be charged a 3.5% fee. At time of entry the following information will be needed: brand number, registration number, owner/trainer information, and signed entry form.  

 

Mandatory ABBI Sanction fees on Open events of $50, not included in entry fees.  

Claiming events are optional and the fee is $100, not included in entry fees. 

 

Day sheets will be posted on Thursday prior to event for review. 

  

Animals must be branded for identification; yearlings can be entered with legible ear tags.  

 

On Claiming Events, If a animal is registered, owner/trainer must transfer registration papers if bull is claimed.  

 

Bulls cannot leave premises until the conclusion of each division.  

 

Claims must be turned in to the secretary no later than 9am on the day of event for Futurity Events, and no later than 10:00am for Derby Events. The secretary will provide the claim card to be returned in a sealed envelope with cash for the claimed animal. There is no claiming option on the open bulls.  

Claims will remain sealed until the end of each division, claimed bulls will be announced with the results of the event. No late claims accepted!! Claims can be made by cash, cashier’s check, or a credit card with a 3.5% fee.  

 

If multiple claims are dropped on a single bull, at the conclusion of that division, dice will be used to  

determine the winner by the highest number rolled.  

 

On a bull that a claim card is dropped on, if he leaves the chute, ownership will transfer regardless of  

injury in the arena.  

 

On a claimed bull that places in the money, the prize money from that event will go to the individual  

who entered the bull not the claimee.  

 

Owner/trainer certifies that by submitting an entry, they have the permission and authorization to enter the bull in a claiming or open event. Owner/trainer understands that if a claim is dropped on their bull, ownership will transfer to the claimee when the bull clears the gate.
